Spend visibility
Cost and usage data broken down by account, service, team and environment, with the untagged remainder called out rather than hidden in an overhead line.
Optimisation & Advisory
Find the spend nobody can justify, tag it, and keep it out of next quarter's bill.
The work
A cloud bill grows quietly. A team spins up an oversized instance for a demo, a snapshot job runs against an old bucket, and a savings plan expires unnoticed. We pull cost and usage data apart by service, account, team and environment, then put it in front of the people who can change it. Most estates we review have a fifth to a third of spend nobody can defend.
Fixing the bill is the easy part. Keeping it fixed needs the cost data to live where engineers already work: allocation tags that reflect real ownership, budget alerts that fire before month end, and a review cadence that catches drift. We wire that into your pipeline and cloud accounts so a new resource is tagged and attributable from its first hour.
Scope
Every engagement on this page covers the following, sized to your setup rather than delivered as a fixed package. If something here is not relevant to you, it comes off the scope and off the price.
Cost and usage data broken down by account, service, team and environment, with the untagged remainder called out rather than hidden in an overhead line.
A tag policy that maps resources to owning teams, enforced at creation time by policy as code, plus monthly chargeback reports finance can reconcile.
Instance and database rightsizing from real utilisation percentiles, matched to savings plans, reserved capacity and spot where the workload tolerates interruption.
Budget thresholds and spend anomaly detection that page a named owner when a service drifts, so a runaway job is caught in hours instead of at invoice time.
Policy checks that block untagged resources, oversized instance classes and out-of-region deployments before they are created, rather than flagging them weeks later.
Cost per customer, per transaction or per build tracked over time, so you can tell whether the platform is getting cheaper or just bigger.
What changes
Handover
Everything produced during the engagement is yours: the repositories, the accounts, the documentation. There is no proprietary layer and nothing to unlicense if you take the work in-house.
Tooling
A starting point, not a requirement. We work in whatever you already run wherever it does the job.
How it runs
The same four steps on every engagement. You see each one before it starts and can stop at any of them.
We export cost and usage data, reconcile it against the tagging you already have, and agree which share of the bill is actually addressable.
Together we pick the changes worth doing first, costed with effort and payback, so nobody is chasing a five-figure saving that takes a year to land.
Rightsizing, commitment purchases and tag policy roll out through pull requests, with the guardrails landing last so nothing breaks silently.
Monthly, we review actuals against target, flag anything that has drifted back, and retire guardrails that are generating more work than value.
Questions
Rightsizing and commitment changes are proposed as reviewable pull requests and applied to non-production first. Nothing is resized or purchased without a rollback path, and we avoid changes that would reduce headroom on services close to their peak.
It depends on how much is untagged, oversized or idle, which we only know after looking at the data. Teams we work with typically find a fifth to a third of addressable spend; the rest is committed, contracted or genuinely needed. We will not quote a percentage before the assessment.
No. We can work with the native cost tools in AWS, Azure or Google Cloud, and only recommend a third-party platform when your estate is large enough that the native reporting genuinely is not enough.
Your teams do. We leave you the allocation model, the tag policy and the review cadence, and we deliberately do not become the person who approves every instance size. The cadence is the control; a consultant in the loop is not.
Optimisation & Advisory
Production-grade clusters with sane defaults, safe rollouts and an operator experience your team will actually enjoy.
A maturity assessment that produces a prioritised roadmap, then hands the team the skills to run it.
Your entire cloud estate described in version control — reviewable, reproducible and rebuildable from scratch.
Bring the specific problem. We will tell you honestly whether this is the service that fixes it, and what it would take.
